Art Group
The Art Group is a joint Andover and Anton u3a activity.
It aims to improve members’ skills and knowledge in painting and drawing in a variety
of media, e.g. watercolour, acrylic, oil, pastel, pencil, charcoal.
Our weekly sessions are very relaxed, friendly and largely unstructured, so you can focus on whatever interests you.
New members are always welcome!
If you have an interest in painting or drawing, whether experienced or a beginner,
just contact our group leader below or simply come for a taster session.
Our excellent professional facilitator, Renate West, can help you achieve your
objectives and develop your skills.
Renate also leads interesting, short demos and workshops. For example: custom
colour mixing; contrast, composition, perspective, use of tone.

The Art group meets every Tuesday 2:30 - 4:30 pm
Venue: Burghclere Down Community Hall, Berry Way, Andover, SP10 3RZ
A fee of £3.00 per session applies, payable on the day.
Activities and trips
24 June 2025: The Art group is planning a field trip to the Longstock Water Gardens near Leckford, to paint en plein air. Start time (at the gardens) will be 10:30AM; we will likely finish around early afternoon, depending on members' wishes. If any member is interested in joining this event, please contact the group leader.
